GREENFIELD, MASSACHUSETTSs – Northeast Security Solutions of West Springfield, Massachusetts, is proud to announce that we have completed the acquisition of Detectoguard, Inc. formerly headquartered in Greenfield, Massachusetts.
Detectoguard is a locally owned and operated company founded in 1971 by the Killeen family. As 3rd-generation owner Andrew “Andy” Killeen planned to move out of the area, he wanted to find a local company that offered similar services in order to meet his existing customers’ security needs. Northeast Security Solutions was excited to partner with him to carry on the legacy that Detectoguard has created over the last 50+ years.
In a letter to Detectoguard customers announcing the sale, Andy Killeen stated, “Northeast Security Solutions has my complete and total confidence for your business going forward. I have known the team at Northeast Security Solutions for years through continuing education and as a competitor. David Condon and his father, George, are two owners giving an excellent name to the alarm industry in Massachusetts. I think you will be very impressed with them as people and business partners, just as I have been. Candidly, there is no other outfit in our area with whom I would feel more comfortable entrusting the legacy of Detectoguard and the care of its customers.”
Northeast Security Solutions, and its other subsidiary Atwood Fire Extinguishers, is a security and life safety integrator and locksmith company owned and operated out of West Springfield, Massachusetts. This is Northeast Security Solutions’ 11th acquisition since it was founded in 1988 by George D. Condon, III. Other recent major acquisitions included Landry Lock and Alarm out of South Hadley, Massachusetts, in 2015 and Dynamark Security Centers out of Tolland, Connecticut in 2020.
This acquisition will give Detectoguards’ approximately 900 customers uninterrupted security monitoring and service of existing security equipment such as access control, surveillance cameras, and burglar and fire alarm systems. The deal also greatly expands Northeast Security Solutions’ market share in both Franklin County, Massachusetts and Southern Vermont.
“In reviewing the customer list of Detectoguard, we were impressed by the longevity of so many of their customers. We intend to earn the same level of trust these folks have come to expect from Detectoguard.,” stated Northeast Security Solutions President, David Condon.
Following the acquisition, Detectoguard’s existing system technicians, William Boudreaux and John Peffer, will join Northeast Security Solutions, Inc. to continue servicing customers and installing new alarm systems.
