Who was Detectoguard?

Detectoguard was founded in 1971 by the Killeen family. They specialized primarily in burglar and fire alarm systems but also offered access control and video surveillance systems. They operated mostly in the Franklin County section of Massachusetts as well as parts of southern Vermont.

Third-generation owner Andrew Killeen approached Northeast Security Solutions in the winter of 2021 to see if we’d be willing to partner with him as he intended to move to another part of the country.

In December 2022, Northeast Security Solutions formally acquired the assets of Detectoguard. The merger brought the addition of locksmithing, safes, and fire extinguisher servicing to the Detectoguard customer base, and a larger presence in Northern Massachusetts and Southern Vermont for Northeast Security Solutions.

We moved the base of operations from Greenfield, MA to our headquarters in West Springfield, MA. However, we still have technicians living in Franklin County who are remotely dispatched from their homes. This includes William Boudreau and John Peffer who had been with Detectoguard for many years and who are now members of our team.
